The history of Danelectro dates back to 1947 when the company was founded by Nathan Daniel. Originally, the company focused on guitar amplifiers from such mail order companies as Sears and Montgomery Ward. Eventually, they also offered solidbody electric guitars. The company produced the popular “Silverline” guitars and amplifiers as well. Currently, the company (now owned by the Evets Corporation) focuses on effects pedals, which have been received very well by critics and players alike.
Currently, Danelectro is known for its several distinct lines of effects – FAB, Mini, Vintage, Cool Cat, Wasabi, and the original line. All of the effects are known for their sound quality and cost effectiveness. The most recent pedal effects, the Cool Cat line, are upgraded with metal enclosures and true bypass switching. These pedals are considered an excellent value by effects pedal aficionados. The Mini line of effects are also highly regarded and are distinguished by their creative names such as the “Chili Dog Octave,” “Grilled Cheese Distortion,” and “Hash Browns Flanger.”
